Three pillars of impact
Our objectives are to improve health outcomes, build food and income security, and protect Uganda's environment.
Health
Our health work meets people where they are — schools, fishing villages, workplaces and homes. We serve orphans and vulnerable children, refugees affected by HIV/AIDS, and residents of slums and fishing communities.
- Socio-economic strengthening: income generation, business development and market information for HIV/AIDS-affected households.
- Psychosocial support delivered through schools and Village Health Teams for children and caregivers.
- Apprenticeships in tailoring, mechanics, masonry and hairdressing for out-of-school vulnerable children.
- Workplace initiatives that make institutions safe and free from prejudice and discrimination.
- Community awareness through outreach, educational materials and radio programs.
HIV Prevention Among Adolescent Girls & Young Women
A focused initiative reaching adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Kabarole, Fort-Portal and Bunyangabu districts through home visits, mobile community events and radio discussions.
Additional activities include distributing educational materials, STI screening, promoting female condom use, and facilitating index testing partnerships with healthcare facilities — aiming to reduce new HIV infections and increase access to quality care.
Livelihoods
We support income generation and food security training so vulnerable households can build resilient, self-sustaining livelihoods beyond aid dependency.
- Income generation training for households affected by HIV/AIDS.
- Small business development and market information services.
- Food security interventions that keep families nourished and earning.
Environment
We work on natural resource management policies that protect the environment communities depend on for their health and livelihoods.
- Promoting sound natural resource management policies and practices.
- Protecting the ecosystems that underpin community health and incomes.
Together, we can eradicate poverty and disease in Uganda.
